There is a class of life problems that I call insurmountable. They are the things that happen in your life that fill you with dread just thinking about. Your first instinct is avoidance, so you’re not actually sure what a solution even looks like.
These shouldn’t be confused with “Hard” life problems. Hard problems are the ones that seem insurmountable at first. But alas, you must overcome them anyway to move ahead. So you struggle through it one way or another. These problems can get a little messy. Often, by the end of them, you’ll wonder if you actually overcame these problems. Or did you just struggle until they went away on their own? That’s fine too!
Point is – Hard problems often wear big red label on their foreheads. This label says INSURMOUNTABLE to make you feel like you can’t even try to fight back. But as you face more and more of these, you start to learn which ones are the real deal. You also recognize which ones are just going to be tough but are meant to be eventually defeated.
Here’s the kicker – every Hard problem starts off as an Insurmountable one. The very first time you run into a Hard problem in your life it will seem Insurmountable. But somehow you manage. You figure it out and so the next time that same problem rolls around, you’re better equipped to handle it.
Life will never stop throwing things that suck at you. The hope is that you don’t deal with the same things that suck over and over again. But even if you do, it’s not as insurmountable as the last time.
