Sometimes I think about how there are some things about you that other people will never know about. Recently, I found myself checking in on my siblings’ rooms to make sure their blankets weren’t covering them too tightly. It’s a habit I’ve begun to do subconsciously every night ever since they were toddlers. Pretty soon I won’t need to do it anymore and this habit will fade away.
No one else in my household knows I do this – I haven’t bothered to tell anyone. And why would I? It’s such a small inconsequential thing. We all have things like this, and I think they’re all worth holding on to. Small, seemingly benign acts that exist only to you. Carried out by your innermost self.
