Last week, Nintendo announced that the only game they will be showcasing at E3 this year is the new Legend of Zelda game for Wii U and NX. More details can be found on their E3 website here: http://e3.nintendo.com/
Honestly it’s not that surprising – they opted out of doing a press conference entirely at E3 2015 and spent most of last year releasing information through Nintendo Directs. It’s a decision that shows how game companies have begun tailoring the way they present information to us consumers in recent years. What’s interesting to note however is this little excerpt from their website:
Nintendo will transform its booth at this year’s E3 to immerse fans in the world of the groundbreaking new Legend of Zelda game for the Wii U™ console.
Nintendo intends on showcasing the new Legend of Zelda game through an ‘immersive’ experience this year. This could mean a lot of different things, but I’m gonna take a guess and say that the new game will sport some pretty unprecedented game play features. A ‘you-have-to-see-it-to-believe-it’ sort of thing. So while the press conference will primarily be focused on instilling wonder into the audience, the booths will offer a concrete look into the game.
